All visits will be conducted by appointment only so that ample time is taken between appointments for cleaning and disinfecting. Patients are asked to bring and wear masks for their visits. To accommodate our patients’ needs, we will continue to do tele-health visits. These are also scheduled visits. As of June 30, all clinic services such as mental health counseling, diabetic education, hearing screenings, have resumed vision clinics.
Due to the backlog of patients in our volunteer dental provider’s private practice, dental services have resumed, and we are working hard to schedule patients as soon as appointments are available.
Held the first Saturday in August, the Swingin’ for St. Martin’s Annual Golf Benefit attracts golfers of all ages and skill levels to play a Florida Scramble at the Garrett Country Club. This fun event is enjoyed by serious golfers as well as recreational gofers looking to beat their personal best score. Snacks, unique libations, and lunch are served. Several activities while on the course are offered to the players.
In addition to the golf tournament, the benefit raises funds by offering a wide array of items and gift certificates for our popular bucket raffle, a 50-50 raffle and "The Great Golf Ball Drop." Using a lift truck to elevate a basket of golf balls the balls are dropped and the golf ball closest to the pin is deemed the winner.
This event is made possible by event, lunch, cart and hole sponsors, in addition to the in-kind donations for our bucket raffles. Our goal is to offer a fundraising event that allow our supporters to be proud of their association with St. Martin’s Healthcare. With the help of staff and volunteers we strive to make our golf outing, "the best golf benefit each year" as commented by past golfers.
After much thought and consideration, with health and safety being our #1 priority, the board of directors made the extremely difficult decision to not hold the 12th Annual Swinging for St. Martin’s Golf Benefit this year. Swingin’ for St. Martin’s is one of our signature events, and your support is still necessary. The clinic has seen a 25% increase in patient visits due to the hard-hit economy and the laid-off workforce. Through no fault of their own, our neighbors are finding themselves without health insurance for their families.
Thank you to our past partners and players for “chipping” in. Together we have raised thousands of dollars to meet the healthcare needs of the uninsured and under-insured residents of DeKalb and Noble Counties. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and humbled by the generosity of others during our "ON PAR" letter campaign.
We cannot wait to see you all again in person for the 2021 Annual Swinging for St. Martin's Golf Benefit, August 7th, 2021 at the Garrett Country Club. All the proceeds raised will support the clinic and our mission.
